Stripe Connect is here: simpler payments, fewer headaches
We’ve rolled out full Stripe Connect integration across Influx, and it changes how payments work for your gym.
What’s different
Previously, Influx was limited to Australasian payment gateways with direct debit. Stripe Connect opens us up to the world!
With this release:
- Onboarding is guided. Connect your Stripe account directly from Influx settings. No API keys to copy, no webhooks to configure manually. The setup wizard walks you through it.
- Subscriptions are native. Recurring membership billing is handled through Stripe’s subscription engine. That means automatic retries on failed payments, proration when members change plans, and real-time status updates.
- Setup intents for saved cards. Members save their payment method once. It works for memberships, passes, and one-off purchases. No re-entering card details.
- Payment setup fees. You can charge a one-off setup fee when a new member signs up for a membership. Stripe handles it as part of the same checkout flow.
- Connect onboarding for multi-location. Each facility can have its own connected Stripe account while you manage everything from one Influx dashboard.
Why Stripe
Stripe is used by millions of businesses worldwide. Their infrastructure handles fraud detection, PCI compliance, bank integrations, and payment retries so you don’t have to think about it. When a payment fails, Stripe tells you why. When a card expires, Stripe can automatically update it.
For gym owners, the practical difference is this: fewer failed payments, less chasing members, and money in your account faster.
Embeddable signup with payments
Our embeddable signup widgets now support Stripe directly. A prospect can land on your website, fill in their details, enter a payment method, and start their membership — all without leaving your site.
Getting started
If you’re already on Influx, head to Settings > Payments and follow the Stripe Connect setup. If you’re using a different payment provider and want to switch, get in touch and we’ll help with the migration.
This is one of the biggest infrastructure changes we’ve made. It’s the kind of thing that isn’t flashy, but it means your payments just work — and that matters more than anything else in this part of your business.
