While we're pretty busy most of the time building simple to use software, we do take some time out to post updates on new features, our thoughts on the wider health industry, and tell stories of our journey here.

Unannounced downtime

Unfortunately you may have noticed up to 120 seconds of downtime today whilst we restarted our main servers. We’re sorry that we couldn’t give you any warning of this downtime but this was due to a very serious security announcement made today affecting large amounts of servers worldwide which necessitated an immediate server upgrade. We had to make the call that a short unannounced downtime was the lesser of two evils compared to having our server security compromised. We apologise for the inconvenience and trust you understand.

Member importer

Getting started with Influx just got a whole lot easier. You can now import members from a CSV file. We’ve got an example CSV file available for download within the import page to make sure you get setup correctly. Once you’ve got your data sorted you’ll have all your members uploaded in no time.

November updates

We’ve been busy working on a major feature release with some early adopters and we’re getting close to launching that. In the mean time we’ve worked our way through a number of small feature improvements that have been requested. Take a look at the list to see if they were one of the ones you suggested

Courses and other improvements

More honing on our popular courses functionality. With users now having large lists of successfully completed courses some have asked for a nice way to filter down the courses dashboard. With this in mind we added a ‘show active/show all’ button to the main list. The default is to only show active courses so if you’re looking for one that has finished you’ll need to ‘show all’ and find it in there.

Working on something quietly

We like launching features that are powerful, functional and most importantly useful for our users. Sometimes these features take some time to get right. As such silence here doesn’t mean the gears aren’t turning, so check out the teaser image to get a hint for what we’re working on. If you’d like to have a play too, let us know and we can turn on what we’ve got for your account.

Add member search addition

Sometimes the smallest updates are the best. Users love how easy it is to add a member to their class but we were searching all members (including expired). This works for some people but not for all so we made a little change so that you can now select which one you prefer. There is now a dropdown next to the search button and this is where you choose your preference. We hope you find this useful too.

Media manager added for site

Some recent feedback was about making the image uploading for the blog posts easier so we put on our thinking caps and decided on a media center. If you’re wanting to upload images outside of the image inserter you can now do this. Look for the ‘media’ menu option in the Site section.

Maximum class size enforcement

Another little feature based on feedback is here. Maximum class size enforcement. Simply add a maximum class size in your planner, either to the series or an individual class and this will prevent members from booking beyond this number. Waitlist functionality is in the works too but in the mean time we hope this is a useful addition for you. When you see next to your attendance summary on your class page something like 5/20 it means that there is a class maximum size of 20 members and 5 are currently booked.

New planner

Don’t get us wrong, we loved the old planner. We put a lot of thought into how we could make planning, scheduling and running classes as easy as possible. However sometimes, well all the time, the real world will test and teach you quicker than the best thinkers can ever theorise. So we’ve reworked the planner and we’re even happier than we were with our old one. You can now set your studio/spaces as multiuse and hold multiple classes at the same time in the same space or leave them as single use and prevent double bookings. Biggest improvement is seeing it all on one page, so take a look and let us know your feedback.
